OEM-documented procedure; not bench-tested.\n\nService classification: Customer Self-Repair chapter; regional/warranty eligibility must be checked; not blanket authorization. [HP manual, printed 34 / PDF 44](https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12664351_en-US-1.pdf#page=44)\n\nScope: Replaceable ram in exact convertible model.\n\n## Applicability and parts\n\n- Exact x360 830 G6; removable modules are explicit on printed 44–45. Listed module sizes do not establish maximum system capacity or a universal upgrade/pairing rule.\n\nDOCUMENTED manual table options follow. A table entry is not serial-specific fit, present availability, upgrade approval or a shopping recommendation. Check the actual product/configuration before selecting a spare.\n\n| Spare | Documented description / constraint | Evidence |\n|---|---|---|\n| 937438-852 | 16 GB DDR4-2666 1.2 V module; documented option; verify exact product/configuration | [HP manual, printed 44 / PDF 54](https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12664351_en-US-1.pdf#page=54) |\n| 937236-852 | 8 GB DDR4-2666 1.2 V module; documented option; verify exact product/configuration | [HP manual, printed 44 / PDF 54](https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12664351_en-US-1.pdf#page=54) |\n| L10598-852 | 4 GB DDR4-2666 1.2 V module; documented option; verify exact product/configuration | [HP manual, printed 44 / PDF 54](https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12664351_en-US-1.pdf#page=54) |\n| L56447-001 | Bracket Kit includes memory shield; accessory, not memory; documented option; verify exact product/configuration | [HP manual, printed 44 / PDF 54](https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12664351_en-US-1.pdf#page=54) |\n\n## Tools and handling\n\n- Torx T5 driver for cover\n- Phillips P0/P1 driver appropriate to screw head\n- nonconductive nonmarking pry tool\n- ESD protection and screw organizer\n\nThe model-specific preparation and handling citations are included in the first step. Use the correct driver for the actual head. Do not borrow screw, Battery Safe, keyboard-cable or memory-slot rules from another HP model.\n\n## Ordered procedure\n\nDOCUMENTED steps paraphrase HP. Reassembly expands HP’s reverse-procedure directions. Any combined order identified as PROPOSED is our own synthesis of those directions, not a separate HP or bench-verified instruction. No numeric torque or unprovided latch motion is added.\n\n1. **Prepare.** Confirm the exact model/product label and matching replacement configuration before opening. Shut down through the operating system (wake and shut down if uncertain about sleep/hibernation); unplug external devices and AC power. Work on a clean ESD-protected surface with grounded handling precautions; handle boards/modules by edges, keep liquids away, and sort screws by original location. Do not bend, crush, puncture or use a sharp tool against a battery. Stop for a swollen/damaged pack or a hardware/connector mismatch. (DOCUMENTED) [HP manual, printed 34 / PDF 44](https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12664351_en-US-1.pdf#page=44); [HP manual, printed 29 / PDF 39](https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12664351_en-US-1.pdf#page=39); [HP manual, printed 30 / PDF 40](https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12664351_en-US-1.pdf#page=40); [HP manual, printed 31 / PDF 41](https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12664351_en-US-1.pdf#page=41); [HP manual, printed 32 / PDF 42](https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12664351_en-US-1.pdf#page=42); [HP manual, printed 33 / PDF 43](https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12664351_en-US-1.pdf#page=43)\n\n2. **Access.** With the closed computer supported upside down, loosen five captive Torx T5 screws. Release at the hinges, rotate the hinge-side edge upward, and lift off the cover. Keep each fastener at its original location; do not detach captive screws. (DOCUMENTED) [HP manual, printed 35 / PDF 45](https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12664351_en-US-1.pdf#page=45); [HP manual, printed 36 / PDF 46](https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12664351_en-US-1.pdf#page=46)\n\n3. **Isolate.** Disconnect the battery cable from the system board by its connector; do not pull its wires. Remove the five Phillips M2.0 × 3.5 battery screws and lift out the battery. Store it safely. (DOCUMENTED) [HP manual, printed 37 / PDF 47](https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12664351_en-US-1.pdf#page=47)\n\n4. **Remove.** Remove the two Phillips M2.0 × 3.0 screws securing the memory shield. Release its bottom edge from the system-board clips and remove the shield. (DOCUMENTED) [HP manual, printed 44 / PDF 54](https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12664351_en-US-1.pdf#page=54)\n\n5. **Remove.** For each module being replaced, spread its two retention clips outward until it rises to about 45 degrees. Hold only the edges, withdraw it without bending, and place it in an ESD-safe container. Repeat only for the other module if that module also needs replacement. (DOCUMENTED) [HP manual, printed 44 / PDF 54](https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12664351_en-US-1.pdf#page=54); [HP manual, printed 45 / PDF 55](https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12664351_en-US-1.pdf#page=55)\n\n6. **Install.** Align the module notch with the socket tab, press the module into the socket until seated, then gently press its edges down until both side clips snap into place. Repeat for the other replaced module. No socket-1-first or clamshell-only rule is added. (DOCUMENTED) [HP manual, printed 45 / PDF 55](https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12664351_en-US-1.pdf#page=55)\n\n7. **Install.** Insert the memory shield bottom edge into its board clips, seat the shield and restore its two Phillips M2.0 × 3.0 screws in their original positions. (DOCUMENTED) [HP manual, printed 44 / PDF 54](https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12664351_en-US-1.pdf#page=54); [HP manual, printed 45 / PDF 55](https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12664351_en-US-1.pdf#page=55)\n\n8. **Restore.** After all component/shield work and internal checks, position the battery and restore its five Phillips M2.0 × 3.5 screws, then reconnect the battery cable to the system board. Keep the cable clear of the cover. (PROPOSED combined reassembly order, using OEM reverse direction) [HP manual, printed 37 / PDF 47](https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12664351_en-US-1.pdf#page=47)\n\n9. **Close.** Check that every cable is seated and routed clear of the cover and that no screw/tool remains inside. Refit and seat the bottom cover, engaging its clips; restore five captive Torx T5 screws to their original holes. No numerical torque is supplied here. (PROPOSED combined reassembly order, following OEM reverse-procedure directions) [HP manual, printed 35 / PDF 45](https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12664351_en-US-1.pdf#page=45); [HP manual, printed 36 / PDF 46](https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12664351_en-US-1.pdf#page=46)\n\n## Proposed checks — all unperformed\n\n- UNPERFORMED: reconnect AC only after the cover is fitted; power on and check for startup/charging errors. Check reported installed memory and run the available HP memory diagnostic; no capacity or slot rule is inferred.\n- UNPERFORMED: if a fault appears, shut down and isolate power before any internal inspection.\n"
